SWHUB will reduce maintenance turnaround times, increase effectiveness and cut environmental impact
Cambridge 1st July 2010; A new concept in maintenance and support is launched today by Marshall Fleet Solutions, part of Cambridge based Marshall Land Systems. The Support Workshop Hub (SWHUB) is a fully fitted transportable workshop, kitted out with appropriate spares housed in a high spec and highly secure matrix shelter.
The SWHUB can be deployed to major customer sites where the level of work means that an engineer is permanently located on–site or will remain in support of the end user at that site for some time to provide service and inspections. The SWHUB will enable Marshall Fleet Solutions to provide an even faster response to breakdowns, giving the customer a reduced downtime for their vehicle fleet especially refrigerated transport and vehicles with tail lifts. This approach has financial, space and deployability benefits for both the customer and Marshall Fleet Solutions making the SWHUB extremely cost effective.
An additional benefit from the deployment of the SWHUB is that the Marshall Fleet Solutions engineers can travel to and from the customer’s site in cars or motor cycles using less fuel than their current heavily laden vans.
“The Marshall Fleet Solutions Support Workshop Hubs utilise the experience which the company has gained in providing similar workshop facilities to the UK Ministry of Defence and emphasise our commitment to “Working for You” by the very tangible reduced financial and environmental costs,” said Peter Callaghan, Chief Executive of parent company Marshall Land Systems, adding “The SWHUB will help to reduce Marshall Fleet Solution’s carbon footprint, something which we are committed to doing.”.
Each SWHUB, which is based on a standard military matrix shelter, is fitted out with all the tools an engineer requires to do a diverse range of repair work, together with the space to do those repairs where they are protected from the elements and giving them a separate space to conduct administrative tasks. The SWHUB comes with a stock of appropriate spares.
